SAMBO, IMO SCRIBE COMMISSION  NIMASA’S  NEW HEADOFFICE

Transportation Minister Engr Mu’azu Jaji Sambo led the visiting Secretary General of the International maritime Organization (IMO), Mr Kitack Lim to declare open, the recently acquired Head Office of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) located at Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the IMO Scribe expressed confidence in the leadership of the Transportation Minister, Engineer Sambo as well as the Heads of the various parastatals of the Transportation Ministry.
While applauding the initiative of the modern edifice, Mr Kitack stated that of more importance is the human competency and capability while the leadership is the most paramount as has been exhibited by the Minister.
“He is an extra-ordinary and a rare leader. I am very confident in him and look forward to a more prosperous opportunities and development of the Maritime activities of Nigeria “he stated.
Also speaking, Transportation Minister, Engineer Sambo expressed gratitude to the IMO Scribe for making out time to visit Nigeria and also having a firsthand opinion on the developmental strides in Nigeria’s maritime sector.
Sambo said that Nigeria will strive to ensure that the country’s maritime activities are in line with the best practices, while also embracing new technologies in the frontiers of global maritime discourse.
Also speaking at the occasion, NIMASA ‘s Director General, Dr Bashir Jamoh, OFR, thanked the IMO’S Scribe adding that his name will remain as long as Nigeria’s Maritime Administration is concerned.
