Since his appointment as the Acting Rector of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, Dr Kelvin Okonna has been putting smiles in the lips of the inhabitants of the host communities of the Academy.
To start with, Dr Okonna has ensured that a modern market was nuilt in Eyo-Abasi community. This will significantly enhance local commerce, thereby creating economic opportunities and improve the likelihood of the Oron people.
Also, Dr Okonna has ensured the construction of a Solar-powered borehole in Udung-Okong village, a life-changing intervention that will provide access to clean and safe driving water thereby improving public health and and sanitation.
Under, Dr Okonna ‘s administration, he has ensured that a Solar energy was installed at the residence of the paramount ruler of Oron, of which he was very grateful.
The paramount ruler of Oron, , HRM Offong Odung Akan explained that these projects executed by Dr Okonna will impact positively on the welfare of his people.
” They will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy on my people”, he comclued.
He assured that the Academy will continue to have a peaceful atmosphere with her host communities.
